One of the main reasons I purchased 3 Tudor Cottages with its beautiful open fire and stylish comfortable surroundings was because I knew the cottage would appeal to guests seeking a cosy, hygge style stay.

With this in mind, taking December bookings, especially those during the Christmas and New Year week/s require particular attention by cottage owners.

Christmas week itself is for me the most popular week of the year, so I make certain I block out any short stay breaks so guests looking to stay during this period will need to book for the full week, the same goes for the New Year’s Eve week.  I also increase my holiday cottage rental price to ensure maximum revenue during this popular festive period.

Guests booking in December, especially over the main Christmas week, usually incur extra costs to the holiday cottage owner, as they will expect a Christmassy setting as well as plenty of firewood to be available for the open fire.  I will cover this in more detail in a later blog.
